True Colors of Mars from THEMIS

The THEMIS VIS (made by MSSS) has 5 channels, 425+/- 50 nm, 550 +/- 50 nm, 650 +/- 50 nm, 750 +/- 50 nm, and 850 +/- 50 nm. These are not explicitly the same wavelengths of the human eye. If a "true color" image is to be constructed, Dr. Christensen's group would be responsible for that.

MSSS only "provided" the VIS as a hardware subcontractor. Meaning the fact that you have a Sony TV doesn't mean Sony has a say in what television shows you watch.

The ASU THEMIS team is solely responsible for any or no color Mars images.
