Re: Commercialization of space
Late last year and for a few weeks this year I was doing contracting work at Boeing Satellite Systems, (formerly Hughes Space Com). A few weeks ago they told me to go home and wait for a call when they needed me. Now they are laying off a lot of full time people, so I doubt very much I’m going to get any call from them. Oh well I retired from Hughes in 1999, and was just doing it for the extra money. I’m not starving…… yet. I do feel for the guys there who are waiting for their notice. I was told they have 900 people in their group, with work for 600. Sad situation.
