I attended that event, and it was very interesting. Particularly of interest was Paypal founder Elon Musk, who is a supporter of the Mars Society, and rich, rich, rich. Just sold another $25 million in stock this week, and has plenty left. He seems to be working on some secret space project, above and beyond the ones we already know about, but he bailed out right after the panel and I was unable to hold him upside down and shake him.
Walt Anderson, the financial "angel" of Rotary Rocket, also attended.
