In a situation that would surely ring a bell among fans of Eisenhower's farewell presidential address, a former Army Space Command lieutenant colonel (Biff Baker) was maligned, then fired 8 days after questioning a high ranking missile defense military official about tens of millions of dollars of alleged fraud, waste and abuse in the U.S. missile defense program. Senator Wayne Allard is supposedly concerned.
Says the C.S.I. "The Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency and the Army Space and Missile Defense Command have been awarding sole-source contracts to a defense contracting company run by a retired high-ranking general, who at one point served as assistant vice chief of staff for the Army. This, Baker maintains, not only raises questions about business dealings between current and retired command staff, but also violates federal regulations that require contracts to be awarded through a competitive bid process."

NASAWatch.INFO's query: We don't suppose that similarly corrupt influence is sought by entities such as Lucent Technologies, the Council on Competitiveness, and Cassidy & Associates (reportedly through former NASA A.A. Jeff Lawrence) which have all either hired or substantially dealt with the former NASA Administrator (multi-millionaire Dan Goldin) who was responsible for similar wastefulness and abuse regarding (among other projects) the ISS, and the X-33?
