Speaking of DVD's

Has anybody pony'ed up the cash and got a recordable DVD player yet?

I saw one the other day for close to $1000.00.

I can't justify that for my circumstance. Hopefully the price will eventually come down...Maybe then I can record all my favorite space documentaries, Stevie Ray Vaughn Concert footage, and sundry other videos in a more permanent form.
