I guess one could say an idiot who publicizes his poorly conceived ramblings is a fool. They aren't mutually exclusive, though one could be either without being both.

Idiotic - cutting off Saudi Arabias oil money with the hope of impoverishing them. Ain't gonna happen, couldn't happen.

Foolish - the belief that doing what you can't do would cause Muslim schools to close.

Idiotic - demonizing the Saudis, whose leadership is weakly on the US side, as opposed to most of the area who is strongly anti-US.

Foolish - thinking a massive land, air and sea military operation could be mounted in the Middle East with most of the land area hostile to your operations.
