I happen to ride a bike a lot. Didn't intend to, just happened when I broke my foot and needed to exercise my dog. Turns out I love to do it, and when I'm out goofing around I feel a sense of freedom very much like that I had when I first learned to fly.
I've ridden recumbents a bit like that one, and they are extremely comfortable. A bit more difficult to go up a steep hill, but the motor option would make that easier. Otherwise a person could ride one of those and perform all the important tasks they can driving - read the paper, comb your hair, make notes, talk on cell phones, drink a beer.
The problem with them, a deal-breaker for me so far, is that they are not all that maneuverable nor easy to park.
When someone figures this out, they'll change it, but so far every bicycle rack I've seen is closer to the door than the handicapped parking. There's something ironic in that.
With that recumbent tricycle you are stuck with the traffic pattern of a car. Can't take the opportunity to use a crosswalk, sidewalk, that sort of thing.
Otherwise, they are wonderful vehicles. Not for many folks, though. Wouldn't have been for me - I sneered at them. Shows what I knew (know).
