Space/Science » in reply to No need to go to Africa

It's a small world after all

That's what the telescopes for inner city kids are for. Doesn't mean that the future economic development of Africa should be ignored.

All of the world's human resources need to be developed, not just those here in the U.S. Why forego the next potential Einstein just because fate's dictated they be born in Namibia?

Besides, a lot of the folks involved with Yuri's Night do a LOT of public outreach.

You do remind me of something Dr. Diamandis told us last night at his lecture to the NASA Academy here at Goddard. He goes to schools to talk to kids about space. He always asks them if they think they'll ever go to space. None ever raise their hands. He then asks them how many would like to go to space. Invariably they ALL raise their hands.

SM may not want them to go, but I sure as heck do.

Kadet Ken
