Hello,
Just heard Philippe Perrin on the radio.
For him, to see the Earth in 3D and not just as a picture, made a huge difference in the perception of being out there.
He noticed how odd it was to find an object in 0G: even if you let it go, you might not find it again as the eye always goes looking for it below you, while it might be just in front of the nose.
He's a little concerned about Peggy Whitson because she's the only non russian speaking astronaut and might feel alone. Only 3 astronauts is really too small a crew for long duration missions.
Philippe admits not to remember the Apollo flights (too young) so for him, Mars is the goal.
He talked about Chang-Diaz' new propulsion method experiments.
His most frightening moment was during an EVA: he didn't know if he was hooked or not for a few seconds ,but he was, so no problem.
He said to be very grateful for the confidence NASA had on him as never before had a rookie astronaut so many important and vital tasks given to him: 3 EVA's and one being a very important issue: repairing the robotarm.
I hope to one day meet him.
