Re: How great were the dreams, 50 years ago
I was fascinated by the artwork back then. A lot of the popular magazines would have articles and artwork about space in those days. It inspired a lot of us to dream of walking in places not of this world.
We were supposed to have colonies out there now, orbital LaGrange point stations, lunar bases, a mission to Mars Etc.
The difficulties and costs were badly misunderstood. Optimistic dreams are nice, reality sucks.
