Reign of Fire: Good science fiction, folks...

The plot's surprisingly good for this sci-fi film that's fairly rich in visual effects, but which doesn't sacrifice character development or intellectual intrigue along the way. The movie takes place in the future, and is worth seeing in the present. It may even be a sleeper hit, whereby word of mouth will make it a success despite its being such a unique film that takes getting used to (but enjoyably and stimulatingly so).
