Re: Kubrick's "The Shining": cracking the code
Having seen "Dr. Strangelove" I looked forward to a fairly tight, logical movie. About the time of the hedge maze outside a ski lodge I knew I was in over my head.
For me, not being into the fantastic and ridiculous, I thought that Kubrick made a movie for himself, not the public and I couldn't understand how it made it into the public arena.
If there is a "code", if it was a puzzle, that could have been made known. It certainly wasn't a movie for entertainment for folks like me.
