Well, this needn't necessarily be anything special. Those definitely are deformations, but the question is: are they any more common than in a non-crop circled field? It appears that most of the bent stalks in the circles don't have such anomolies, and even in the healthiest wheat field, you're likely to have a few such mutations. So are people just noticing them because they happen to be in a crop circle? Or is the incidence of them truly increased?
