These folks need to be doing NASA advertising bits. Their movie might be the closest thing to NASA needs and should hope to capture.
For example contrast their teaser movie with the reports Peggy has been sending from the ISS which Raoul has been posting.
One is exciting and pivotal and awe-inspiring and the other is...well...sort of hum-drum at best.
Should NASA be advertising. Yes. The Postal service advertises - let NASA loose with these guys on the bankroll. The Mars Society too should be advertising. I posted this a few days back as an example of the sort of campaign which must be waged to secure mars funding and public support. NASA needs a slogan like, "Let's Explore!" and announce a broad list of space goals include a number of manned projects. Forget the PC space station with the humbled Russians as howdy-doody joke types - bring back the THRILL of CONQUEST. That could be another MARS ad campaign, "The THRILL of CONQUEST."
Wake up and smell the coffee folks its ad-money that makes the world go round these days. These guys deserve a major offer from NASA - and if NASA doesn't approach them - then they should take their film to GSFC and show what they can do. Otherwise its like you said...a sad retrospective into an agency that lost its way during the Vietnam FIASCO. SDAI-Tech1
