I am somewhat of a Robert forward fan.

I came across his book, "Indistinguishable from Magic", while shopping at the BX in Khobar Towers back in 95.

For anyone not familiar with Forward or Indistinguishable from Magic, the book is a series of introductions to some of his ideas, and his expansion of ideas from others, id est, space elevators and sky hooks, accompanied by short stories written around the use of these technoloiges. A really good read, IMO.

My fav short story was the one about the aliens where "...nobody gets rich...". Too bad politicians don't have to store their received contributions in a hole in their living room...
