Re: Where's Atlas when we need him?
Don't wait for an Atlas. Become one.
Want to go to space? Build rockets. Learn how to machine metal, learn how to weld, learn mechanical engineering, learn how to interface electronics, learn how to program, learn how to lay up composites, etc. You can build all these skill with night classes at a community college, getting access to good facilities for cheap.
When you just start looking at the raw materials cost, building a rocket doesn't seem so ludicrous.
