The Apollo 12 SIVB stage

I find it an exciting story!

The last Saturn V third stage number 507 that had not been sent to the Moon, crossed inside the Earth orbit for 33 years then reached the Sun-Earth L1 point, only to have its orbit reshaped and enter the Earth-Moon system.
And it could after all collide with the Moon, one of these days.
However, all the instruments that could have measured its impact have been silenced for the past 25 years.
Here we find that it had been sent into an Earth orbit, at the time. It could have reached the L1 point then and traveled to a solar orbit where it remained for 33 years until it reached L1 again and re-entered Earth orbit.
