I love the "Idea" and the "Atmosphere" of Caltech

10 years ago I would have sold my Grandmother for the chance to work there.

However, they have some heavy corporate blinkers, IMHO.

Jack is a nice bloke, but he's not quite cutting edge any more. We have talked, but either he didn't listen, or he's already sold his soul...

(I admit I might not be right, but for heck's sake, if people didn't insist I was totally goddam politically wrong the moment I started thinking, I'd admit I *was* wrong. As it is, they might be wrong, too!).

One day, I hope I'll be proved wrong by careful and rational exposition, but so long as it's personal, emotional, and political, hell, I might even be right!
