Hiya Peeps,

Last week I posted a request for links regarding the Turino Scale because I was giving an information speech in my speech class on NEOs. (Thanks Raoul for the links.)

In the few days since my speech, we've had two high profile cases in the news, one in Irkutsk (link thanks to Alan Boyle's Cosmic Log) and one < ahref = "http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,5223661%255E1702,00.html">; over the Mediterranean that occured in August.

Part of my speech included the possibility of the 30-times-a-year meteors that explode with the force of one Hiroshima causing the unleashing of nuclear weapons in political environments such as the India-Pakistan relationship spoken of in the second link above.

It's almost uncanny to me that I just gave this speech last week in class and then these incidents are in the news a few days later.

I want to attempt to give a follow up "impromptu" speech on my subject referencing these incidents in class on Tuesday. I really think my instructor would go for that "on the fly".

I was wondering if there was anyone that posts on this board that does any research, professionally or amateurally, that is involved in this type of reasearch that has anything to say that they would like to pass on or if anyone else is passionate enough about the subject to make a point they woule like me to iterate in my speech.
