I don't know if this news has been posted here in the past week [Check
the Houston Chronicle "space" page
for more info], but a new 'spaceport'
was officially opened on an isolated stretch of scrubland near Stockton, Texas this past week.
JPAerospace helped to inaugurate the modest rocket-launching facilities
by sending up a 14ft rocket upto 20,000 ft.
Not bad for an amateur rocketry group
to achieve in a relatively short space of time.
As most of you know, I tend to be too impatient and cynical of the plans,
proposals and 'schedules' given by such
amateur rocketry groups [remember the 'new' Murphy's Law I proposed?].,
Well...this time, I can sincerily
congratulate JP Aerospace, and others, for their work in establishing this new
rocket-launching site.
Ad Astra per aspera.
