At any rate, I'm also aware of how copying and pasting URLs works; (e.g., with the use of Control-C and Control-V). For example, in the Windows environment highlight the the entire URL with your cursor, then press Control-C (or select Edit->Copy). Then place the cursor in the address bar (perhaps in a newly opened browser window) and press Control-V (or select Edit->Paste).
