Good, safe sunspot viewing

I've often used a small telescope to view sunspots BUT ONLY BY PROJECTION, NEVER BY DIRECT VIEWING!!

By carefully aligning the scope (without looking through it)(so that the image is projected on a smooth, light surface (I've got a back door that works perfectly), a large (5 cm +), clear image of the sun and it's spots can be produced. Direct viewing through filters is OK if you can get adequate filters, but the image is still pretty small.
