ANOTHER MSN EXCLUSIVE: Ancient circle is restored to its former glory as eight new stones appear.
MSN roving reporter Drew Idd gives an eye-witness account of today's amazing news.
Salisbury Plain, Friday November 22.
Picture the scene: after a heavy night on the beers you decide to go for an early morning stroll to clear your head. You need to find somewhere quiet, somewhere restful, somewhere that you can be at one with the earth. Well that was me today.
Luckily, I live on the doorstep of one of Britain's most famous landmarks - Stonehenge. What better place for a stroll in the early morning sun?
I set out at a brisk pace, breathing in the fresh air. I decided to walk right up to the stones rather than flutter by at a distance. I'm doing some research for a book about the 162 stones (or menhirs to give them their proper name) right now and so have developed quite an affinity with them.
Dawn's sunlight dazzled me as I drew near but I could sense something wasn't quite right. When I reached the stones I couldn't believe my eyes. The ancient circle was no longer incomplete - as it had been on every previous visit of mine; eight new stones had appeared.
Stonehenge as it was before
I counted them to make sure - one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Eight new stones. I couldn't believe it.
Luckily, I had my camera with me and was able to capture the moment exclusively for MSN users - as you can see from my amazing 'before' and 'after' pics on this page. At the top of the page is Stonehenge as it now looks and below it is how it used to look.
What are we to make of these eight new stones? I called ancient stones expert Sir Mickael d'Yaeger of the German Boulder Institute in Emessen, Bavaria.
"Ja, Drew," he said when I called. "What is going on?"
I explained.
"Incredible. I have never heard of anything like this. I think it could be another one of those 'Postchrysalide octo-events'.
Reginald Weightman, Professor of Paranormal Psychology at the University of Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire, confirmed Mickael's suspicion. Weightman has been researching 'Postchrysalide octo-events' for the past eight years. He said: "I told you so on Thursday, didn’t I? Now, after the numbers of Big Ben’s clock face turning to eights and crop circles in the shape of eights, we have eight new stones at Stonehenge. There’s more to come, I'm telling you. I do think internet users who are hoping for better ways to browse the web could be affected. This will happen on November 26, mark my words."
More follows...
lol.
