Did Einstein Cheat?

First of all, it should be obvious to everyone not in need of a seeing-eye dog, that I am neither a Cosmologist nor an Astrophysicist. (Or for that matter a Professor of Nuclear Engineering) So I'm not really qualified to comment upon Professor Rydin's challenge to the Big Bang model of Cosmology.
Of course, that's never stopped me in the past, so here I go.
Because I am keenly interested in the subject matter, I took the time to thoroughly read Professor Rydin's web site, including the two essays on the Big Wave model.
I enjoyed reading the material, but was initially struck by two things, which seem out of place. The first was a casual co-mingling of Philosophy and Science in the context of disproving the Big Bang model of Cosmology. The second, and more surprising, was an apparent rejection of Relativity. Not just some aspect of SR or GR, but Relativity entirely.
I would ask you, or anyone else who is still listening to read all four pages of this article by John Farrell (Multimedia Specialist, Shapiro Institute for Education & Research, Harvard Medical School), Did Einstein Cheat?, which appeared in the July 5, 2000 issue of Salon Magazine .
Additionally, this is an excellent FAQ on Scientifically Inaccurate Claims Concerning Cosmology and Relativity.
