30 year anniversary next week
This is one anniversary I hoped I'd never see. Thirty years since the LAST moon mission Apollo 17 to the Taurus-Littrow valley. A generation's work has gone to dust. Instead of continuing on into space, we as a society adoped a European vision and spent the money (many times over) on social programs like the "War on Poverty". We can all see the legacy of those hundreds of billions of dollars. How much less poverty there is in the US. Crime rates down, etc. Educational standards raised considerably...
All this while NASA morphed into a complete political entity serving as a jobs program for congressional re-election purposes.
