FIRST: Greetings, and Happy New Year.
Being in the construction business, I am encouraged by recent developments
that show that two nearly-dead mega-projects, on the verge of becoming no more than fading 'pipe dreams'
can be resurrected by perseverence
and alternative plans.
It just goes to show "it ain't over until the fat lady sings".
One such mega-project is the plan
to build a 3-million ton displacement
ship called "Freedom Ship" capable of holding upto 50,000 residents: A literal planned "floating-city". The project almost went belly-up because the project
founder/promoter/planner was taken in by false investors [con artists] who nearly killed it...
However, the project is now back on
track due to perseverence by the project planner. Wait for a major announcement on March/17th/2003
regarding this project.
Another mega-project, the half-mile high
planned skyscraper, "Millenium Tower",
originally planned for Japan [until
the Japanese real-estate market collapsed] is now revived and planned
for Hong Kong instead.
Personal note: I wouldn't mind working on this one...
Jacob
