As for Pioneer, I don't known the costs or capabilities of their rocketplane, but if the design was any good (both cheap and USEFUL) they'd get money. Since they're not, it's likely that their design is neither cheap nor useful.

As for NASA centers, no, I don't want them to spend more money on manned Mars flight schemes; and as far as competition goes, if there's anyone out there with some great new idea that will help the centers do their jobs then they can sell it to them.

I hope no one is paying this guy for this crap - though it is a delight to see the Mars nuts attack Bush Jr's man the same way they attacked Goldin. They may be idiots, but at least they're a bi-partisan pain in the ass.
