Interesting, thanks Robert. I would tend to go for the composition theory. I've seen the green tinted phenomenon that they discussed, but this was a lot more than green-tinted - it was brilliant green. I'm sure if someone in a relatively dark area had been facing away from the meteor, they would have cast a shadow from it.
