Yes, I know the feeling! I've noticed I was able to focus on the moon better using a Barlow 2x if I have more time (to reduce the turbulences coming from moving the scope from a warm to a very cold place ) then eventually, the Moon's edge become neat and not fuzzy and yes, it's a better image. But it's not perfect and also our own eyes are not perfect...
