Well, the Europa, Io Jupiter dance of last friday was far more spectacular than I thought! (with the help of Starry Night and no, my CD-Rom has nothing to, do with space.com:-)
At 19:03 TU, from Earth, Io was right behind Europa (Io being slightly bigger):
Then, 2 hours later, at 21:07 UT, a most amazing event took place (no report about it yet, from experienced astronomers; I was under clouds).
The alignment between the Sun, Europa, Io and Jupiter got perfect!!! And from the Earth, it could have been possible to see Europa, it's Shadow on IO (yes IO!!!), Io in the form of a ring with a mgnitude more in brightness and only ONE shadow on Jupiter. Before that and after, both shadows merging and separating again.
(This should be played with Ligeti's Atmosphere from 2001:)
