Good points. O'K is clearly wrong in his Pluto statements as quoted. No way an ion drive pulls the Gs to decelerate at Pluto. Admitedly I do not get wood over the Pluto mission like my guys at the Plan Soc.
Yes the era of the big missions is over. However...if we're to ever do serious solar system exploration we need nukes. To me this is "vision" and a paradigm shift. I'm tired of the same-old same old. We've done nothing really new since the 70s (excepting the wonderful varied space observatories).
