Cats merely put up a facade. Mine will stare incessantly at a brick wall for hours. I don't think it's so much a matter of deep thought, as it is a total shutdown. He's waiting for the next can of tuna to be opened. That, and complaining about the catbox, is his whole life, and the most ecconomical way in which to continue in this is to set up a personal stasis field.
I think you're very deep, Phil -- but not quite in over your head...
