Earlier failure?
I have heard from two unofficial but reliable sources now that a piece was seen falling off the Columbia while it was still over California, a good 4 to 6 minutes before the breakup over Texas. God knows what it was. One would not think a small tile would show up at that height.
I assume that many people saw this, and that more info is forthcoming.
