I saw (as you may have) a light curve from California that appears to broaden significantly at about the zenith.

This was on an interview I saw this morning. One of the two guys said he saw something like a 'puff' but the shuttle was moving so fast, it was gone in little time.

In one video I saw from Dallas, as it was just comming up and visible, pieces in the wake were visible. This was before the onset of the thick contrail where I'm guessing serious airframe ablation and failure was occuring.

Has anyone seen anything on the web or USEnet of images taken from more western locations than NE Texas?
