That got me too.....
After Nick's post I went back and looked at it again. It looks like that is where the second larger(?) piece appears as the first is occluded by shadow.
I interpreted this at first to some change in direction with flow around the orbiter but it seems Nick is correct.
You can see the first piece come out from behind apparently intact.
