First major California photo
From a Daily News photographer.
Unfortunately, there is only a very small shot online at this site, too small to look closely at the time-exposed trail. My local paper printed this as a large black and white, which appeared to show a small flaring about a third of the way in from the left. This shot was taken about a minute after problems first started, right over my head in the cloud-covered sky.
I really expected a lot more people west of Texas to have taken movies and pictures. Heck, from watching the news, it seems like everyone with a video camera had it pointed upwards in Texas.
