The astronauts can get home just fine on Russian ships, and once they work out some knotty details, they can get up there on Russian ships too.
Even if someone handed me the title to the ISS on a silver platter, I could bankrupt a small country with the upkeep and repair costs.
If I had that kind of money, I would start from scratch and build something a lot simpler and easier to maintain.
A cool idea, though...
