From numerous astronaut biographies and their talks, there are aspects in this article that show it's not an astronaut who wrote it.
First, astronauts are far more scared of screwing up personally and endangering the flight that of the flight itself.
They have trained many times and are with more experienced astronauts.
It's true their head is downwards, while ascending to orbit, but the accelaration is so strong that they don't feel at all being upside down.
