"34 years of crater count data are available"? - how about 2 years

Hello Nick -

I am quite sure that the crater counting folks are available - g*d knows they aren´t spending their time doing crater counts, as for some reason the money for doing them is limited -

The only crater counts that I am aware of are those that were done by Gene Shoemaker in the early 1960´s on a limited subset of the poor resolution lunar imagery available then. This may be due to Dr. Morrison´s influence, as Shoemaker´s early 1960´s work plays a prominent role in all of his risk statements.

Bill Harting´s work seems to be ignored in the risk estimates, for some reason. Any guesses why?
