It is a PBS station so I doubt much money comes from consulting a production there.
It's also post shooting, being good on camera doesn't matter it past that part and they probably ask me because they want someone local...
If later they're doing something on the erosion on Mars or water, etc... they need to interview you. White Mars maybe an important piece of the puzzle.
