<I'm still puzzled. If light at the edge of the visible universe left the emitting object 14 billion years ago when it was 14 billion LY away...How is this possible when 14 billion years ago the universe had just begun?

It couldn't have been 14 Gly away at that time, it would've had to be closer.
Where did you see read the information you're quoting?
