Kaboom? Melty-melt? I don't think so.....
It's an interesting thought experiment but the claim is that this is a real picture through a pinhole lens in the side of the mystery meltable sphere.... I have to say I'm a bit unconvinced.
A sphere that much bigger than the lightbulb would be able to radiate strongly enough to prevent the temperature from getting that hot.
