here sandia shows us another possible method for fusion power. Don't see how it will ever work for a full-scale power-plant, because of the elaborate set-up for a single Z-pinch pulse. But, there may be a way! In any-case, anything producing a fusion reaction and kinetic plasma can only help us understand the processes involved in super-heated plasmas, which can then inform the physics and apply to other things, like magnetic confinement or laser (Robs favorite flavor, of course) Fusion.
