Re: Johannes, start here... Thanks again

Hi !! I had a chance to look at the information you provided, although I do not understand all of it thoroughly, I would like you to examine what I understand so far. Perhaps you can point me in the right direction concerning the one unanswered question.

Explains how molecules can escape from a celestial body.

Explains that there is more Helium in the Earth's atmosphere than there should be for the age of the planet.

Has some very good math problems.

Stuff about Mars rocks

Mentions interesting papers that have been written about Earth's atmosphere. Including one by Nick Hoffman.

Too much info on all types of stuff, interesting but not related to my quest.

< b > Interesting problem.
Write down an equation from Chapters 2 or 3.
Explain it in detail, and give an example where you would apply it. (P2 = a3, KBO at 100 AU) < /b >

How precise must those details be, for instance, must I include the fact that the acceleration due to gravity at sea level and zero latitude = 978.0327 Cm/second^2 and at 90 degrees latitude = 983.2186 Cm/s^2. ?

Also, must I compare the vertical velocity of the nitrogen molecules on Earth to the horizontal velocity of the LOM on Titan or vice versa?

Many years ago I met this young lady at the university cafeteria and asked if she could solve a research problem that contained the formula Qt Pi b4I 4Q Ru/21, her answer convinced me that I should do more research on the subject of female appearance. In the same manner I hope that your answers will be in the negative, so that excessive complications can be avoided.

More to the serious side, I do understand R.L.'s assertion and calculations which indicate that by applying thousand times more radiation energy to a limited quantity of fluid such as air, the fluid molecules will eventually contain thousand times more kinetic energy. Although in the process of being bombarded by such high energy photons, the molecules may be 'ripped apart' and changed into Helium atoms.

< b > The question of the nuclear power plant's energy efficiency still remains unanswered. < /b > ????

Truly interested
Johannes

Quote
It is easy to talk of sitting at home contented, when others are seeing or making shows. But not to have been where it is supposed, and seldom supposed falsely, that all would go if they could; to be able to say nothing when everyone is talking; to have no opinion when everyone is judging; to hear exclamations of rapture without power to depress; to listen to falsehoods without right to contradict, is, after all, a state of temporary inferiority, in which the mind is rather hardened by stubbornness, than supported by fortitude. If the world be worth winning let us enjoy it, if it is to be despised let us despise it by conviction. But the world is not to be despised but as it is compared with something better.
