I saw and talked (a little) with Fred Haise in november 1981 (he still looked like a crew cut astronaut.
But no pictures to witness this:(
He said that they could actually see the Earth shrink in size when they moved towards the Moon.
I did not ask him a question: did you leave NASA when you realized that STS3 (which he had been slated to command) would not be ready on time to save Skylab from re-entering Earth's atmosphere? (there was a while when that flight had been planned that way).
