Space/Science » in reply to Ramjet Powered Mach 30 Space Plane: Will it ever happen?

No.... Do the math

Take the speed of sound and multiply by 30. Next assume complete combustion takes about 1 millisecond. Multiply 1 millisecond by the vehicle velocity. The distance calculated must be less than the vehicle's combuster length. You'll find the calculated distance (combustion length) is much too long. Hydrogen fueled supersonic combustion ramjets crap-out (thrust less than drag) at around Mach 10. This is common knowledge in the aerospace community.
