On Voyager and STNG, I was given the impression that Borg "communication" was near-instantaneous even across galactic distances. Don't ask me how. Also don't ask me why, if this is true, they had to send a subspace message at the end to inform the Borg what was going on.
Is this a space subject or an "off-topic" subject? Not an easy call!
