A Columbia question
I was listening to a radio talk show Sunday in which a caller was giving all kinds of misinformation about the Columbia disaster. One being that it was negligent for NASA not to have enough fuel on board to go to the ISS. That got me to thinking. I am often asked just that question, and all I can say is they could never Carrie that much fuel. Could someone here who knows the math do a rough calculation as to just how much fuel would have been require to make the orbit changes to get to the ISS during the STS-107 mission. Ignore the fact that it will be an impossibly large number. The point will be to show just how impossible it was to get to the ISS.
