I am just a curious person.
When you strap two aerodynamically crafts together, I would imaging you would get some interesting vortices. They must have gotten all balanced out, or the two would either be trying to smash into each other, or be torn apart.
I wonder if the lift the shuttle wings provide, give the Boeing more lift, or does it just cancel out the shuttles weight?
