US Army starting work on common missile for ground and air use
I like this idea. Instead of having to maintain separate production and logistics pipelines for the TOW 2A, TOW 2B, and Hellfire missiles, the Army is starting development of a single missile suitable for ground and helicopter use. There are several benefits from doing this: production economy of scale, common training and logistics, and operational flexability.
